 Tochigi Municipal Night Junior High School (Tochigi-Manabi-no-Yume-Gakuen) opened in April 2026.

Would you like to study at public night junior high school?

◯ The “Tochigi-Manabi-no-Yume-Gakuen” aims to:

 ・provide opportunities for everyone to study from any time.

 ・offer a variety of support for realization of a dream.

 ・develop persons keeping learning toward a dream.

 

◯ Any persons aged 15 years or older desiring for learning the contents of compulsory education

　will be eligible to enroll in the school.

　(in addition to those who live in Tochigi Prefecture in principle and it will be possible for them

　 to attend school).

　　*Any persons from any countries will be eligible to study together.

◯ Learning Time / School Days:

 ・The school will have a five-day school week on Monday – Friday.

 ・There will not be any classes during the long vacation (such as summer vacation).

◯ Learning by Course

 ・You will study the contents equivalent to a 3rd-grade junior high school level.

 ・You will study the contents equivalent to a 2nd-grade junior high school level.

 ・You will study the contents equivalent to a 1st-grade junior high school level.

 ・The school will provide opportunities to study basic contents including the learning contents

　 in an elementary school.

 ・It will be possible to learn the primary function of Japanese and study the contents of each subject.

 

◯ Learning Contents

 ・You will be permitted to study according to your own goals, regardless of grade levels.

 ・Any certified teachers will give a lesson.

 ・It will not be possible to study specific subject or learn only Japanese.

 ・Any students who complete the required courses will be considered as graduates.

 

◯ Enrollment Process:

　Step 1: Hear an explanation.

　　・Attend a school orientation.

　　・In case of difficulty in participation, contact the Compulsory Education Division Learning Opportunity

　　　Enhancement Section.

　Step 2: Have an interview.

　　・Have an interview about the reason for enrollment and your learning progress, etc.

　　・For all of persons desiring for enrollment, the interview will be held.

　Step 3: Submit any documents.

　　・Submit any documents directly or by simple registered mail.

　　・Submit the documents within one month after the interview.

　Step 4: Make a decision to enroll.

　　・A notice of decision on enrollment will be sent by Tochigi Prefectural Board of Education.

◯ Q & A for the “Tochigi-Manabi-no-Yume-Gakuen”

　Q1: Will there be an entrance exam?

　A1: No, there will not be any entrance exams. After having a personal interview for talking to you,

　　   the enrollment will be decided.

　Q2: Will there be a charge?

　A2: There will be no charge for an entrance fee and school fees. However, you will be required to pay

　　　for school supplies, etc.

　Q3: Although I cannot speak Japanese, could I enroll in the “Tochigi-Manabi-no-Yume-Gakuen”?

　A3: You will be permitted to enroll in the school, because you will study any subjects after learning

　　　Japanese.

　Q4: How many years can I study?

　A4: You can study for 3 years in principle. In addition, it will be possible to begin studying the contents

　　　equivalent to a 2nd/3rd-grade junior high school level. You will also be permitted to study for more

　　　than 3 years.
